The Inspiration

Concerts are getting more expensive every year, in fact the most popular concerts will run about $300 per ticket for seats that are front-row adjacent.

Madame Gandhi, our client, set out to create an Augmented Reality experience that made it possible for fans to enjoy her concerts from the comfort of their homes, using merchandise purchased online or at a previous show, making concerts more affordable. The goal, to keep fans engaged and current with her online presence.

What It Does

EntertainAR allows our client Madame Gandhi to give her fans a show ticket or no to ket. In addition the app keeps fans engaged when she is not on tour as the concert is now archived in the app. Upon downloading EntertainAR fans can scan Madame Gandhi merchandise and a menu of options will appear, where they can choose to watch a 360 video of a concert she is featured in, shop for merchandise, connect with her online, or view a show calendar.

How we built it

EntertainER was built using Unity 3d and Vuforia, several elements of the design were created in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Challenges

We ran into some difficulty when attempting to convert an .mp4 file into a 360 video. We learned that we needed to use a 360 mesh to solve this issue.

What Are We Proud Of

When demoing the product the Madame Gandhi Fans our project was accepted with great enthusiasm. We set out to create an app that would be fun and entertaining to her fans and being able to complete an MVP in 24 hours is a great success, plus we had a blast doing it. We started the hackathon as strangers and now we are pretty happy to have had this experience
